Who makes the best hood?

I am looking for an aftermarket FD hood with a single center oval opening in the front. Similiar to a Ferrari hood. Subtle not garish or over the top.

I think I saw it once but don't know if it's still available. Any one with pics or ideas please post up.

Thanks,
Kevin

If that's all you're looking for why not just open up the stock one? I've had my VIS hood BO for about a month. Some kind of world wide CF shortage or something...

Rotary Extreme had a warped scoot style for around $400-$450 but I would think with hood pin you could get it to sit flat. It fiber glass and if they still have it they have pictures of it on a car. For that price you could hack it up to get the look you want.

I never seen one with just the center scoop.

The hood you refer too was a stock hood modified with a Viper scoop. I believe the owner of the car went by "coop" on the forum.

Unless they have a different hood, the only one I've seen like that from them is a Scoot copy.

The hoods that Seibon sells are just copies of other hoods (OEM, Scoot and Knightsport).

Yeah the one that I was talking about was a single opening in the middle no additional vents. More low key.

Well looks like Seibon seems to be the only one. As Scoot is in Japan only and Knightsport is hard to find as well.

Just looking to see what I can do to reduce engine temps and bump up the cool factor.

Thanks everyone for the help.

I had the wrong forum name, it was Cypher who owned the car. Not sure if he still owns it.

I have the SCOOT hood, which has a center opening. My FD has been mistaken for a 575M before, so it might be what you are looking for. But, for it being subtle.....well not quite. It is extreamly functional and I believe VIS makes a copy of it carbon for around $500.

Did your scoot hood significantly reduce your engine water temps?
Also does the front scoop hit the intercooler directly? The reason I ask is because I want the most airflow in my engine bay.

That look like a knock off the real scoot hood has a center tunnel. I guess it could be removed like the rotary extreme one. Also unless extensively reworked the fitment of the original was quite poor. The one in you picture look near perfect from that angle.

Also the VIS is around $650 or more and back ordered for an unspecified amount of time.
