Well, if it's the last 4 digits then I've got you all beaten. My auto VR '93 Touring's last 4 digits are: 0012
How do you determine the date of manufacture? I won't be able to tell until next time I go home if it is something I need to look for on the car, but I'd like to know as much about my car as possible.

There's lots of 93 FD's out there with VIN's over 10,000. My FD is just under 11,000 for reference(late '93)Still, #12 would be really low! wow! Next time you're home, take a pic of the driver's side door jam and post it. It'll have the VIN and build date listed as well as other info. Being #12, your build date would be 12/91.

Hey since we r talking about vin #, mine say's 998 I know u r looking for low # but I was curious about my vin and was wondering that does this mean mine was next to be a 94 model?

Here is some info on VIN deciphering.

The last 6 digits are the seriel number.. I said last 4 because I was looking for older cars....
Your VIN tells you what model year your car is by the year code in it...
For example:
JM1FD3311P0200001
The "P" means 1993. "R" is 1994, "S" is 1995.
Check out the site. It is interesting.
