if your talking about a new reman and install, 6Gs is way too much. are you getting new turbos also?
When my motor goes I will probably get new turbos as well. I was told by a reputable shop that it was around $6k "to do it right."

yeah if your talking about a brand new turbo also included with a motor and install, 6k isnt bad. especially if they "do it right."

It does take about $6k to do it right (including R&R). My mechanic won't reuse rotor housings, so that adds $1000 to the price of the motor right there. Add to that the increased labor rates in California and $6k is about right. We're not talking dropping in a Mazda re-man here....

Wel I think most people were assuming just the negine was being dropped in not a turbo upgrade as well.

When did I say anything about a turbo upgrade? I'm saying that $6k is the cost to rebuild an engine properly and R&R. At least in Cali.

The quote you had mentioned the guy getting new turbos as well when the motor goes assuming thats what it ment. Perhaps it's justa price difference from region. BUt I know of people who have gotten it done cheaper.
