Who has a/c

As you know summer gets really hot and you need that a/c. So who has it and who doesnt.

I just got my a/c on tuesday and today i came out of the car and i heard a hissing noise. I looked and the intercooler was pressing against the condensor and made a whole. Now were going to move the intercooler and weld the condensor. Best 2 days of my life in miami

That sucks. Yeah, it gets really hot up here, way too hot to not have A/C. I don't see how some people go without it.

the main reason why i got A/C is because it rains so hard here it fogs up. And thats really dangerous. You either get wet and see whats infront of you or stay dry and keep wiping the fog from the windows

I can't use my AC. It makes the car run too hot. And I live in one of the hottest cities in the country. 110+ for months at a time. It really blows.

vegasfd what type of collant you put in your radiator? I use watterwette+water+upgraded fans from summit and even with the a/c my car runs at 85c (187F) all day

About 70% water and 30% coolant. I had Water Wetter in it before I switched to the Koyo. Never put it back in. The air in Vegas literally burns your arm when you stick it out the window. I just gave up on the the whole AC idea.

Very good point. The de-humidifying element of A/C is worth ANY performance compromise, from a safety viewpoint.

Scott,
Have you tried running dual upgraded oil coolers? Oil coolers provide about 30% of the overall cooling for the engine. I think some of us are cringing at the irony in your statement that you can't use your A/C due to the heat. How can you stand driving around like that?! Last time I was in Vegas my FD was able to keep up with the A/C, it was strained though, and it was high 90s.

we see 100-105 degrees and 100% humidity here during the summer. sitting on the beltway for an hour or two in traffic is insane.

I love my AC. Car runs marginally hotter, maybe another 10 to 15 F. (~205 F. ) but I'm careful not to drive it hard (high boost) with the AC running.
If you plan on making it into a track monster, I guess it doesn't matter, but removing the AC (and/or PS) significantly reduces the value of the car IMHO.

I wouldn't have taken out my AC if there wasn't such terrible cooling problems.

I have a/c installed but it does not work at all think it needs a charge but it is a 93 so it has r12 so i talked to the guys at my dealer and they said they would hook me up if not i will take the test so i can buy it. R12 is so much better then r134a and i dont feel like converting it. It gets pretty warm here in Md like upper 90's sometimes and very humid and having the windows down doesnt cut it.

Ditto, summers in Toronto dont get as hot as las vegas, so I can with stand it to a point. Also having a silver car helps!
