Got it at ~79k miles I think.. Just over 83k I blew an apex seal. Think the 2nd turbo was dying too. Was making some awful noises a couple days before the motor popped.Less than 6 months of ownership! But it's covered under warranty, and *hopefully* will be bullet proof for another 100k miles or so...

daily driver for me too... i dotn really abuse mine because i have 2 warrants for unpaid traffic tickets so i just drive it to work and back and rarely to the grocery store since i use the wifes car fro that and everything else usually... but 5th gear is crunchy and other than that runs pretty well on teh street. gets up to 210 in VERY rare stop and go traffic occasions(i try to avoid that at all costs) sits at 200 in moderate to hard driving on teh hottest of days and chills at 180 the rest of the time and 180 on teh freeway when teh air is flowing through teh radiator.
I actually like driving a rear wheel drive car in the snow. Just goose the gas and watch the people behind you back off
Best way to keep people from tailgating you in bad weather.
Seriously, I've always had a rear wheel drive car and with Dunlop 4000's the car does ok. Now forget deep snow or steep hills - take out the wife's FWD car then
Rust on a FD? That's the first time I've heard of that. I get some rust and the car goes - time for one with lower mileage
Once my FC started to rust I lasted about a year with it before unloading it. Hard to fix when it starts to rust from within...
Someone keep a pristine low mileage FD for me for when it's time to retire mine

like i said i dont have trouble driving a rwd car in the snow its quite fun i look forward to it everytime it snows, i just dont liek gettign salt and sand on the car, i drive my FC in the winter ive had it for about 2 winters now, there is no rust on that or atelst any yet, i just donno if i want to put an FD thru daily abuse and winters
Hmm....my 79 RX-7 didn't even have rust after living through Indiana/Michigan winters. Come to think of it, I've never had a car rust on me (except surface rust where the paint had been damaged in a ding or similar circumstances). I would wonder if the car had been poorly repainted or something along those lines.
Obviously in a situation where your car is going to be subject to road salt or other corrosive materials, it's important to wash it regularly. Even in midwest winters, there are occasional days where it's at least warm enough to get the salt off.

no **** u live in cali, u bastards
Mine's been a daily driver for a year now and I live in the Chicago area. I usually get a ride if there is more than 3" but on Yokohama db's I have driven in 3". It is just tough to get going (wheelspin no matter how slowly you let out the clutch), you need to be light on the throttle and prepared to give it plenty of opposite lock. The biggest problem is ******** in suv's riding your bumper.

Daily driver since feb '93, yes 93, 90K on it, I used to have a really short comute. I agree though, fuel is the worst thing. Also, no snow here in So Fla. The rain can be fun at times, makes for good tail out driving practice.
For about 2 years now I have put over 35,000kms on it, but its an excellent car for the roads here. Especially from Victoria to the West Coast-Tofino, Long Beach. Draw back is the continuous stone chips on the front end and washing it at least once a week - by hand.
I have driven mine daily, its my only car. in the last year I put 30K+ miles on it. the first engine went out by previous owner at 110K miles by over heating. new engine has 51K miles on it. When I first got the car it had problems, all cooling related. I replaced both fans, the radiator shroud, most of the coolant hoses and vaccuum hoses and the radiator caps. (also got a koyo, but stock radiator was fine.).
Since I fixed my overheating problems last fall, I have had no problems, the car runs amazing. I have 161K miles on my original OEM turbos too.
