Who actually casts these upgraded LIM's?

I'm sure it's much harder but why can't they also try making rotor housings?

I guess they would sell for the same amount as mazda sell them for. I guess I just answered my own damn question.

It's more than just casting the shape of the housing, don't forget the chrome coating and other processes that go along with a rotor housing.

As stated the plating is the big issue
Here is some intresting reading on the process and the costs involved. On a mass scale i just don't see it equaling out. Too costly. But Nonetheless Scaliiwag has done some great R&D for us. Plus he makes kick *** solid AL engine mounts

Yeah, like I said before. Even if someone could copy the housings, the cost would be more than mazda.

The intake manifold and the rotor housings aren't comparable in casting quality. The intake manifold does not have tight tolerances and besides a little surfacing and drilling doesn't have any complicated secondary operations. The rotor housing on the other hand requires very tight tolerances and has many more post casting operations done to it.
