Most likely, oil leak from the turbo oil lines. However, no one can say for sure without directly inspecting the car.

Good advice. After hard or sustained boost, I had oil smoke from this location. Later, a small drip on the pasenger side PPF.

The one-way oil injecters were sticky on my FD with 25k miles - fix was a light tap on the injectors. Watch out for the lines as they are fragile.

One easy thing it could be - this is really weird, happened to me and took me a while to figure it out.

With the R1 strut tower bar in the way, I would normally fill the oil up by standing on the driver's side of the car and pouring it in the oil fill neck. Well, the oil sloshes into the hole for the PCV system on the oil fill neck, which is then sucked into the primary turbo when you start the car and puddles in the Y-pipe. The oil drips out where the two halves of the Y-pipe join, and it drips right onto the downpipe/precat, making fun smoke.

If the car has mileage THAT low, the engine is strong, body straight, interior nice, and it's a fair price, I wouldn't sweat some smoking that bad. Could be a problem, could be something minor. Hell, for a CYM, I'd put up with a lot .

Interestingly enough, my smoke was the first hard drive after oil and filter about a week before. Maybe my "fix" was coincidental.

Oil leaks may influence the offer price but not the puchase.

i thought you ment it was smoking from exhuast. Did you ask the guy what the smoke was about?? Remeber buying an FD is tricky...make sure you are picky. It took me a year to fine one and it was worth the wait.

thought it was alll of the above...turns out its my front cover gasket...reman w/ 30k miles on it...leaking from the portion of the gasket lacking screw mounting holes...take it to a shop before you buy it and have the engine cleaned with carb cleaner then have them run it up on a lift with a flashlight to see where it is leaking....if its an oil retrun ur lucky if its ur front gasket have fun...1k price quote here so watch out
