Where You Found Your FD
Hey again guys,
I'm really looking at getting into an FD and I'm wondering where you guys consistently find good deals on 3rd Gens. I've heard of a few different places online so I'm going to attach a poll to this thread just out of curiosity. These are rare cars and any help in finding one for a good deal would be much appreciated!

AutoTrader in March of 2001.
I had just parked the car after finishing a pretty gentle test drive. The hood was open and the car was idling when a puff of oil smoke came up from the vicinity of the turbochargers. I started grumbling about it possibly needing new turbochargers. He said it had never done that before, nevertheless, he said he'd let me have it for what the Porsche dealer was going to give him for it on trade ($5,500 below his asking price). I immediately agreed to it. He later called me back and asked me if I'd buy it for (trade in value)+(sales tax on the trade in amount). I happily agreed since the rationale was perfectly legitimate and still an incredibly good deal. Those same turbos are still spinning along happily.

Found mine on kijiji.ca 3 years ago. It had an un-insurable VIN at the time. I had to jump through some annoying hoops to resolve that, put the price was right. Totally worth the headache.

My friend had one, tried to do some repairs, and never finished... It sat for 6 years in her driveway, I bugged her a few times a year for 4 of those years and it's finally in my garage being restored!

High bidder ebay auction Jan 2003. Flew one way to Houston and drove her home 7hrs drive. I finally got my baby and that was one of the happiest days of my life. That was until I stopped at a Hooters in San Antonio to watch my Tennessee Titans get murdered in a playoff game against the Raiders.

Autotrader 2012, 9500 mint MB FD, but it was auto lol. Female owned with all documents and 15k rebuilt motor by rotary performance 97k on the body. Just waiting to do a manual swap. Would be nice to buy a mint manual, but you won't get a mint manual for 9500.

Autotrader 2014. I'm gonna have to agree with trout2, patience is key. I literally checked autotrader everyday, twice sometimes three times a day till I found "the one". When I found mine, the guy had only had it posted for an hour before I called him. Drove 4 hours to see it and close the deal and then drove back the next weekend to pick her up.
