It's hard to say this without it coming across as insulting - but the odds are very, very good that your car needs more maintenance before it needs any mods. If you just bought it, it's not your fault. The reason it needs done first is because unlike many cars, if you wait for certain things to break the penalty is harsh.
There is a thread under "advice" about upgrades but I suggest you also pay good attention to the maintenance and reliability mod discussions.

if you are including a midpipe in your turbo back exhaust then you will probably need something to keep an eye on boost creep and may need to port the wastegate, and also some kind of aftermarket ECU.
Downpipe is highly recommended for both power/spool, and getting heat away from the engine.
Catback and intake will also be fine. But leave the cat until you upgrade the computer.
A radiator should be considered soon too.

I'm also new to the rotary game, however, I've read my tail off and have double/triple checked any information that's given to see if it stands the test of time. It's been said that heat (and detonation) kills these engines. That being said, focus on the cooling system first, and some may say get a different air intake system that won't cause the air flow reversal as found out my Mazda...I'll check up for the reference...be back later...
And of course, see what the folks before me have mentioned... Luck to you, I'm jealous you have a running FD with low miles. Robbie.

Once you start modifying these cars you'll never stop. Be sure you're up for the challenge before doing so because with every single modification you perform you'll need another modification done to "support" the first modification you did and IF you decide not to do that you'll just increase your chances of blowing up your motor.
