Where to install 2nd O2 bung?

I have 3inch full exhaust and looking forward to installing the wideband. Where do you guys mount the 2nd O2 bung to install the wideband. I was wondering installing it at the midpipe right after the downpipe meets. Anyone have anything different please let me know and why. Thanks p.s. I was more concern on overheating the wideband vs accurate reading.

install the bung downstream from the turbo before the cat or mid pipe. the high exhasut temps and pressures before the turbo interfere with the lambda readings.

if you are really worried about temps.....fabricate and install a copper heat sink.

also make sure you do not install the sensor between the 3 and 9 o'clock position.

In the midpipe near the downpipe junction is a good spot. Wideband sensors should be installed no more than 10-15 deg from vertical, to prevent damage from condensation.

you mean install the wb at top of pipe or side? I am looking forward to installing it at the midpipe right after the end of the downpipe, would that accurate enough?

Yes, that's a good spot....within 10-15 deg from VERTICAL (ie, sticking out of the top of the pipe)

Just below the tranny shifter,so you can route the cables inside the car from the shifter boot.Just be careful not to have the cables near the propeller shaft.

I had never heard this, is this 10-15 degrees on both sides of vertical for a 20-30 degree sweep or is it a 101-5 degree sweep?

The Bosch datasheet for the LSU4.2 says to incline it up at least 10* from horizontal. Another way to put it...if 0* is straight up anything from 280* to 80* is fine.

I put mine on the midpipe just past the downpipe junction. Seems that's where a lot of people do it to have the right mix of temperature, vertical placement, and to avoid taking out the downpipe.

RX74ever -

I placed my sensor on top just before my high flow cat (photo #3) along with some mixed photo's of my wideband install. Been running it this way for over a year with no problems.
