where to get my turbos rebuilt?
Well it didn't work out with the warranty co. to replace my turbos.
Some suggestions on places to get my stock ones rebuilt? No problems with the housings. Problem, the rear seal leaks, so alot of smoke. Still thinking about going w/99 spec or BNR's. Just looking for other options that might be alittle cheaper.
TIA.

turbo city
well - you can buy the turbo city rebuild kits for $150 - there's a rebuld how to in the Newbie FAQ and on either Steve C site or the Robinette site
you will be disappointed when you open the $150 box and find just a few o-rings and brass plates and bearings
Does anyone know if there are cheaper places to buy the stock twin rebuild (or upgrade?) parts? some place on the web maybe?
If I were you - I'd buy a good used set off the forum and hope for the best - unless you just want to spend big $ on some BNRs or 99 spec twins...

I believe TurboCity will also rebuild them (aside from just selling the rebuild kits). Give them a ring as they also balance turbos so you know they'll do a good job. Most places probably never bother to balance them which is why a lot of people never had good luck with rebuilt turbos.

Majestic sucks! They were good a little while ago, however, they can't seem to rebuild turbos properly anymore. Maybe they have new employees, but it doesn't matter the work still comes out like garbage.

bnr and rebuild the factory turbos a-spec. there isn't much luck in rebuilding them though, as they will still smoke some. that was the problem with the first bnr's, which has now been corrected.

BNR, and A-spec rebuild the factory turbos. I've heard thats not much luck in rebuilding them though, they'll stick smoke. I think that was the problem with the first BNR's, wich has now been corrected. You might want to try searching around for various companys.

We have not had any problems with our stock rebuilds. It can run a litte more than $1k if the turbos are in bad shape, but no problems.

Yes, the previous owner had the turbos rebuilt, balanced, etc. and it cost 475 each. Came out to about 1k with tax :X
They were rebuilt at a place in charlotte called turbo auto, I can give you a number if you want.
The high price leads me to believe that they must have been rebuilt and then reinstalled too... seems like a lot of money to rebuild a set of turbos. Or is it accurate? The receipt only says: Cart HT 12 Mazda RX7 Twin but the seller told me they were rebuilt, balanced, and set to non-seq.
