Where to get diff bushings pressed in?

Well, like the title says.. is there a forum memeber/shop that can push in these diff bushings for me? Every local shop is either scared or says they will ruin the bushings if they try? They are poly diff bushings from wanklin.

PM me if you know any local shops in SO. CAL.

Thanks.

Dan

P.S. The diff mount was easy to get out with a ratchet and crowbar, it was all about leverage. I would hate to put this thing back together with the stock parts still in.

Usually, getting the old bushings out is the hard part. All poly bushings I've worked with just needed a little grease on them and a soft mallet to tap them in.

Barring that, try a machine shop.

You can also buy the bushing tool at your local Harbor Freight. I think I picked mine up on sale for $20.

Really?

What was it called... I heard of such kits but didn't think they were good enough for differential bushings. Was it hard?

http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=38335I use this to replace all sorts of bushings. Though I have the MazdaSpeed diff bushings sitting in my garage, I have not yet tackled that project yet. Others have used this tool to remove the diff. bushing. They key to the tool is to have a nice set of sockets.

Don't know how close you are to San Diego, but there's a machine shop here that will press bushings for $10ea. They did my new diff bushings with no issues. I'll dig up the contact info if there's any interest.

$ 10 Each is alot of money , buy a small press or tool to keep ,then you can do it again for yourself and others .I have pressed them in for a hamburger and cold drink .I am easy .

If you have room for the press and you're not tight on time, sure. I already own the tool that Walien posted and it wouldn't budge my diff bushings (even using an impact gun). It worked great on my pillow-ball bushings, though. YMMV.

UPDATE:

Ok so 65Imp was kind enough to let me come over and help me with the bushings. He did an amazing job! They went in perfectly. This guy is an awsome dude and a great asset to this board. Thanks a million man, these bushings feel great.

Tips on installing Poly bushings:

They babies are very squishy, and they will pop out of alignment if you don't get them center. It seems trial and error work best, they don't take much force to push in, only a little patience. A little gease doesn't hurt either.
