Where does the injector insulator go?

I removed my secondaries last week to send to RC and bought two new rubber insulators for them. Thing is, when I pulled them out, I didnt see the original insulators and there is nothing sitting in the injector hole on the rail. I'm hoping they couldnt have fallen down the hole. But the question is, where does the insulator go on the injector? It looks like it would sit right above the bottom o-ring. Is this correct?

The insulator sits on top of the diffuser in the lower intake manifold, not on the injector itself. The insulator is sandwiched between the diffuser and the injector rail. Download the factory service manual from www.iluvmyrx7.com and you'll find an exploded diagram of this.

ok saw it in the manual thanks. so if i'm not pulling the fuel rail then I cannot access the insulator. If the injectors have never been removed before and they have 26k miles on them should I worry about the insulators being worn or do they hold up pretty well?

I replaced mine at 72k miles and the original ones were still good. In my case I had a leaking injector but I replaced all the insulators and injector o-rings while I had it apart.
