second question

The part in the first pic goes in the second pic, what is the purpose of that thing? Is there any adjustment to do?

Better start taking it back apart. Your car is not goning to run worth a **** with that off. It goes on the posts between the front plate and the waterpump housing.
I almost forgot them also.

You can't go leaving **** like that off the engine. Im not exactly sure what their task is but i know they need to be there.
Sorry

I think they are like spacers or something. But it's important to have them on.

they are shims that go over the two long studs to keep the front cover even. the shims are about the same thickness as the gasket to help prevent coolant leaks

the part in the second pick is just to keep the eccentric bolt from coming out (extra precaution)some cars have them some dont
