Where does the end of this hose go?

Sorry, I am a newb when it comes to the seven (actually most cars.) I bought the car about 8 months ago and have been cleaning up all the little things I have been finding. Today when I opened my hood to help cool things down I noticed that this hose was rubbing on the airpump pully and had been scored. I was going to replace the scored section but when I went to trace the hose end found it was connected to nothing. It was just hanging straight down towards the ground.

I tried looking at the repair manual and found that the connected end goes to the manafold but it didn't show the other end.

Any help for this poor newb would be much appreciated.

It's suppost to go into your air box. Since you don't have one getting a small air filter fit on it would work.
