You get under the car, remove the flat metal plate from under the transmission and look up at the drivers side of the transmission toward the rear. there is a cube shaped block sticking out the side that is the end of a plug. Pull grab a wrench and unscrew that. to check the level stick your finger in the hole, if the fluid is level with the bottom of that hole then the level is good. to add fluid you put it in that hole, easiest method is with the $5 pump from your local parts store.

its a pain
this is one of those jobs where if ever, you'll wish you had a lift. Will be 100 times easier.

Yeah those 5 dollar pumps are fun it only takes 400,000 pumps to refill the fluid haha. Take it to a shop should be a 30 minute job to change the fluid.

if you get hte right type of pump, its super easy and fast, just go to the local hardwear store, buy a bug sprayer, pull off the tip and put a tube on it (which can be bought at the same time), pressurise the can by pumping it up and let the sucker flow fluid for you in to the tranny/diff/thru the brake system or thru your clutch line. should cost 15 bucks all together and you dont loose a drop of fluid!

You cannot change the transmission fluid through the clutch/brake system. They are not connected at all.

To check transmission fluid level you will have to do what Tom93R1 suggested - manually check at the fill hole. But unless it is leaking all over the place, or you suspect that it was not filled correctly at the last fluid change, there is no reason to check the level. The fluid cannot just disappear - it is a closed system, and it does not burn off.

It is in the manual.

How do you expect to take proper care of your car without one? It is your most important tool!

Sorry skunks, the sentence below was what led me astray:

Now that I've read it several times I see that it can be interpreted a different way. Sorry I misunderstood your post to mean otherwise.

PS: IMHO post count is neither a sign of knowledge nor of intelligence
