Where do I get this? (shift bushing)
I just bought new bushings, installed them, and still noticed a slop in my shifter. I've concluded that it is the circled bushing below....where can I get this? part # perhaps? I havnt been able to find it...
www.mazdatrix.com sells stock plastic or upgraded aluminum ones.
i went to mazda to replace one before and they said they only sold that with the entire shifter asseble, they had a modle there though and the guy behind the counter said just take the one off the model and give me like 5 bucks hehe... so i did

Here ya go Damon,

Also, my C's still rattles from time to time too
. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason most stock shifters don't rattle is due to the fact that most stock shifters have a split boot around the pivot, preventing the shifter from actually being rigid enough to rattle.

i am reviving this thread instead of starting a new one. is the boot that you guys are talking about replacing this one. if so does going with a short shifter eliminate the need for this boot. the reason i ask is because sixty or more dollars on rubber+the inner boot($26) doesn't seem to make sense to me when a short shifter is going to give you better/tighter shifting.
what do you guys think?

You are showing the insulator boot that seals the inside of the car from the outside. These tear in addition to the shifter boot. The shifter boot they are talking about is mounted to the metal plate that bolts to the top of the transmission itself. It is small, not like the behemouths you have pictured. I'm pretty sure all shifter kits come with the shifter boot (the small one) as part of the package. The insulators you have pictured are a separate deal. I had to replace mine when I did my short shifter, as my shifter boot had split long ago, spraying tranny fluid onto the insulator, which ate the rubber. Interior temps went down a bit with the new insulator.
