Where to cut for RE Amemiya light kit..

Okay, bought the kit, just need someone to show some instructions (or where to cut, really) the headlight bracket to mount the kit.

Thanks ahead of time, any drawings or templates?

How about a picture? This is from RE's website.

See the install instructions here http://www.rotaryextreme.com/sleeklightinstall.html

Oh man, I'm sorry. I saw RE and didn't read the rest. I don't know about the amemiya kit.

They are almost exactly the same, since the Rotary Extreme kit was based off an RE Amemiya kit. Here's a better picture of what needs to be removed...

I have never taken out my head light assembly so this may seem kinda silly, but once you cut out the region can the pop ups be re-intalled?

Only after welding in the pieces you cut out...

I've never heard of anyone having any problems bolting the C-West kit in. Are you sure you're talking about the right kit?

The C-West kit even bolted into my car after removing the sheet metal for the RE Amemiya kit, something the East Bear kit won't do. I should know, I've had all three...

where do these lights actually bolt to? DO the cuts have to be exact? or do you have any "wiggle room"?

Thanks again for all the info, some of those pics are great!

Yes, I'm sure it's the Cwest kit. I'm not flameing anyone! That's just what he told me he had to do. It was Dark out when I saw the car, so I didn't look into exactly what he had to trim like hell. They looked like yours mounted in so I know he did'nt do anything improper. Maybe excessive but they looked good. Again... This is what he told me. I have not yet installed a Cwest kit, Just the real RE, Rotary Extreme's RE.

The light brackets (both RE Amemiya and Rotary Extreme) bolt to the two remaining 10mm bolt holes, which I'll show a picture of in the next post. The RE Amemiya kit also has a side bracket which bolts through an existing hole beneath the wiring harness on each side.

You can just chop up the area like Chuck apparently did, or you can make cardboard templates from the RE light brackets which give you just enough clearance for the lights and then carefully cut out the area with a die grinder using a cut-off wheel, which is what I did.

My Cwest setup went right in. No problems at all.

You sure he didn't get the cheap knockoff cwest kit that is like $700.

Here's a better picture of the area that needs to be removed and what is left afterward.
