oil injection boost or vacuum

Does the oil injection run off of boost or vacuum on the injector nipples? Thanks

Richard

It runs off oil feed pressure from the MOP. Boost/vacuum doesn't affect the oil flow.

so why do vacuum hoses attach at the top of them? I'm trying to figure out what to do because I've tried the boost side and the hoses blew off.

Bad answer above , the oil injector is opened by the vacuum applied to the vacuum nipple .The source of the vacuum is constant at the front turbos air intakes elbow .

The oil injectors are one-way valves, they pass air in one direction only, and that is into the engine. What happens when you apply vacuum to the outside? Boost may aid the oil flow and/or atomization of the injected oil, but there is no open/close action caused by air pressure.

Read the above and tell us why they are connected to a source that only sees a vacuum signal .How does the intake elbow get boost pressure ? It can not ,,,is the answer but I guess you will answer differently if you think the oil injectors get boost pressure .

I have read the above. Several times. And I've watched the video of the hacked up oil injector. I won't answer differently, because I know they don't see boost.

Your theory about vacuum opening the injectors makes a lot of sense, they'd see more vacuum under boost, less when cruising, providing more oil when we need it. That's all good, but I don't see it happening given how the injectors are designed.
