I'll sell you a custom one for $750, lead time is 6wks - I guess that doesn't help you though does it

I did this test using an old Suzuki rotary engine compression tester:

These testers are very rare and hard to get, but my buddy was able to find one for $100 from a Mazda Recycler. I also found that there was about a 25% difference between peak readings using this tester and the new digital Mazda factory tester. The Mazda factory tester showed 8.x for every chamber.

Anyway, if you can't buy one, take it to a place that has a rotary specific compression tester. Any Mazda dealership should have it.

ebay had one a few weeks ago when I was looking for one. I didn't buy it because they wanted $350 for it.

Good Luck

Just searched ebay and couldn't find it, sorry.

Do you need one with a machine attached, if not any compression tester should do fine. Its a little bit tricky get the compression tester hooked to the front rotor, but it can be done. The rear rotor is a piece of cake. I got my tester for 25$, and followed the steps on scrudenia or whatever that sight is lightning in a world of thunder.

Here is a different one, but will probably work. Sounds like you will have to replace the hose and spark pulg fitting. I did see another and it was going for $240 (I think), that one may be a complete compression tester.
