Mine needs replacing too, so I've been shopping around. Don't know if they're cheapest, but rx7.com sells the stock R1 lip for $264 (their other prices have seemed reasonable and they ship quickly). I'm thinking of just going with the '99-spec lip since I think it looks a little better and is cheaper too. It's $190 at rx7.com.

Just noticed the store has the 99-spec lip for $169...somehow I missed that the first time I looked. Just placed my order!

Try Mazdaformance, or Malloy Mazda or someone. I've bought a few R1 front lips for $227 from Gallery Group.

I ordered from Mazdaformance. The link is at the top of this page. I believe the price was $220 plus shipping.

How is the fitment with the 99 front lip versus the earlier year lip on a stock bumper? Does it fit perfect or is there a little refinement that has to be made?

It bolts on perfect, however it doesn't match up perfect to a 93-95 bumper, there is a very small point that sticks out on each side and isn't flush with the bumper. Not a very big deal though.

For the 99 lip you have to drill 2 new holes on each side. It doesn't line up perfect but you can make it real close depending on how you drill the holes.

Yeah, just to clarify, the fitment problems are only that the top of the lip sticks out about a 1/4 of an inch farther than the body on the left and right sides of the car. Unnoticable unless you're looking for it. Hey, maybe it adds just that tiny bit of extra downforce!

For me personally, I might end up going with the complete front end at some point which is about $1700. My stupid plastic front is warped from the sun and starting to chip up pretty badly anyway. Then the lip will fit perfectly!
