Painting stock/plastic intake pipes?

I am interested in possibly painting my stock plastic intake pipes. I am talking about the plastic cross-over pipe and the stock elbow. I know other people have done this. What paint have you used and how durable is it. Any chipping, flaking or discoloration? Thanks

I used genral use paint, and did not have any problems. You just have to make sure you prep well. Make sure you sand it well. Also take your time, and give it sevral light coats.

You may want to spray it with a plastic adhesion promoter also. Most auto body paint supply stores will sell it.

mkoch1: How did you do the sleepy light conversion. Did you make a new bracket or did you modify the stock one.

The headlights are just to sets of catz driving lights. I hacked up the stock assembly and made a fiberglass shelf to mount them on. To get them 1/2 up I disconnected the motors and just maually turned them up 1/2 way. They look cool, but the lighting sucks. My car isn't street driven so it doesn't matter. Here is a picture with the covers off.

Exclamation

I did mine with some high temp silver. There was some flaking but i fixed it once and it never flaked again. But that will soon be behind me anyway .I just got my efinin y in today. Which will be polished and installed as soon as my car gets out of the body shop. Then the Greddy elbow and a connector then I'm all set.
errr until I get a new IC that is.
