still looking

I have seen that thread. I am looking for one NOW! I do not want to wait another month or two for a group buy. I will be having my car painted in January and I cannot wait for them to finally complete the hood.

Does anyone know where I can order a MazdaSpeed CF Replica hood this week!?!?

thanks for the help

Nah, it's not a Madaspeed hood and actually I don't sell that one anymore. the quality is not up to par. Now I only see the Knight Sports replica hood and also the scoot replica hood that will be available soon.

Chuck,

this is off the topic, but will a strut bar fit under the knightsports hood?

I've recently checked everywhere for a mazdaspeed replica. I had no luck at all. Your best bet would probably be to wait on the group buy that is going on. Is your hood damaged?? Why do you need one right now? If you can wait hold out for the GB or give chuck at rotary extreme a call or Jason at the rx7 store. I'm sure either of them could help you out.

My hood isn't messed up. I am having my whole car repainted this month. So, I unfortunately don't have time to wait for the group buy. It will probably be towards the end of Feb. before I could get one from that GB. I need to have my car back and painted by mid-February for next seasons racing

Oh, yeah. I do plan on painting it. That is why I would like to have it when the car goes into the body shop. I guess I am going to have to bite the bullet and get a real one for $1400, ouch!

Anyway, I am still looking. I still have a week or two before I have to have the hood.

thanks again.

Bummer you've got such time constraints.

I was going to reccommend you just have the shop save some paint, and when we can finally send you a hood, you can have them paint it then. Is Mazdaspeed still selling them? I heard a rumor they discontinued them. I'm not really sure though.

Just for personal curiosity's sake - if you're going to paint it, have you considered a fiberglass hood?

65Imp: when do you think the hoods will be ready, is there a final price yet? I have considered getting the hood at a later time and then having it painted. But, then I would have to pay for two hoods to be painted

I would like to get it all done at one time.

Jason has the real MazdaSpeed hood listed on his page for $1400, I have not got a hold of him to find out if he actually has one in stock or if he can even get one.

Viper jr: I have considered a fiberglass hood. And I may actually end up getting one. But, I have not seen or heard of one that is a MazdaSpeed replica (which is by far my favorite hood for the FD), and my car is used mainly for racing so I would like the lighter weight of the Carbon Fiber.

How about Faspac?

Since u have FMIC, would likely fit.

Recomend u paint stock hood too at same time.

Our replicas will be done quite soon.

The shop told us they have the molds done and will begin with the first hoods as soon as they get back on the 1st. Then all we need to do is hammer out a price, and figure out shipping (and make the 40 or so that the forum wants!) But they said they can produce them quickly once the mold is done. Also our hoods will be fiberglass and we're shooting for the 400's on pricing. If you want CF over the FG then we shoot for 700's. or a full, made of notheing but CF hood we have to check pricing. Does anyone know what the real Maz-speed hood is made of? Anyway, we'll have pictures and reviews by other forum members in our area up as soon as we can. Bear with me, as I've been without my car as it is hoodless all this time.

KevinK2: I have also considered the FasPac hood. But, on their website it says it will not clear the APEXi top air filter. So, I'm S.O.L on the FasPac. The MazdaSpeed replica may be the same way. If it is, I guess that I'll have to figure something out.

65Imp: By what date do you think you could ship out an all FG hood?
