Where to buy stock style bolts with built in washer??
Does anyone have a source for the stock style bolts used in the engine bay? Specifically I'm talking about the M6 bolts with the built in washer and the bolts with the flared heads. I know you can buy them from Mazda, but they get expensive quickly. I'm trying to find some galvanized or stainless bolts to replace the aging ones.

I think you want to be careful about using stainless bolts threaded into different metals. There is something about the properties of using stainless bolts on different metals that might screw something up. I read it somewhere (not on here) but don't remember the details.

I've bought some from them before, good stuff.
One good trick - hit up the junkyard. I've found TONS of new-looking 10mm head bolts with the captive washers, all for free or cheap. One really good spot to look is under the door panels of Japanese cars - those bolts are typically nice and clean from being inside the car all their life.
Finding good quality JIS fasteners in the US is MIGHTY damn hard.

Just got done doing the same thing in my engine bay. I used JIS flange head bolts/nuts:

These are bright silver zinc plated, and grade 10.9 (not that you need a 10.9 for most of your joints).
As far as stainless steel, you only need to be worried about galvanic corrosion---which won't take place without a fluid getting between the two metals. If you're going to use them, just keep them away from things like the water pump and maybe some of the aluminum parts.
