Where to buy the shocks that hold up the rear hatch?

The shocks no longer maintain pressure.

Does anyone have some lying around for sale. Or where can I pick these up for a good price?

Beware, they are expensive! If you don't want oem then most auto parts stores have them, you just need to know the length.

I have bad pressure in the shocks on my subaru hatch. Didn't want to spend the money for the expensive replacements. I went to the local hardware store and bought a piece of 3/8" three sided aluminum channel. Open the hatch all the way, and measure the length of the exposed part of the shock. Cut yourself a piece in the proper length. Use it as a "block" to hold the hatch open. You could even attach some vel-cro to the back of it to stick to your carpet. That way it won't slide around, and it will be right where you want it when you need it.

That MUST classify as a ghetto mod, as per RonKMiller's definitions! That's sooo great!!!

I figure as soon as I replace my wing, my hatch shocks will magically begin to work.

What would the price be from Mazda? I bought some from Advanced AutoParts and they look pretty "ghetto" to me. The brand that they carry is "StrongArm". Where it attaches to the body, it looks like you would have to alter the bolt as the new ones have a smaller hole diameter. That and the fact that the plastic piece that covers the bolt becomes obsolete. I'm picky as hell when it comes to details such as this.
