I was 25yo delivering pizza for Dominos in Williamsburg, Va. I remember seeing a VR PEP passing me on Ironbound Rd and thought to myslef, "Damn, that's a sweet lookin' car! I want one of those someday". Years roll by. I've always owned "sensible" cars. Geo Metro, Civic VX, Subaru Outback, Toyota Scienna. Then a few years back I decided that now that I've got a good job, house, two family cars, it's time for something fun for Daddy! Trolled the forums for a couple of years. Bought an FC for a TII swap, abandoned the project( the chassis turned out to be a victim of Hurricane Isabel), then bought my FD......

Heh. In high school in '93 driving to school, found myself behind a black one, no wing, tinted rear window. I sped like a madman in my Plymouth Sundance to get around him so i could get a clear view from all sides. I probably pissed him off a little, jockeying in traffic for a closer look, but I had to wipe the drool off my steering wheel.
about 10 years later, I finally bought one.

I'm a month away from 17......got my 7 at about 16 and a half, probably one of the youngest FD owners. To be honest I got an xbox a while back and it came with Sega GT. I was and still am really into cars, and I had never seen a seven before....so i bought it, played with it, and in that game when you upgraded the exhaust or something it would backfire flames and I thought that was so cool. I used the car to beat the entire game, it wasnt the fastest, but it handled so good! Saved my pennies and dimes and found a good deal, and now I drive my dream car, and if the engine was to blow tommorow, it may make me cry, it may make me have to sell it, but I'd do it all again anyways.

First 1 i saw i was like 13, had no idea what it was but it looked cool. When i was 15 my next door neighbor worked for Mazda, advertisment or something, his wife had a black R1. First day he moved in i walked over and asked him about it, talked for like 2 hours. i thought it was a beautiful car but i never thought i'd own one. I'm a big rally fan and wanted a STi after driving my buddy's R2 RX-7 and a Stock STi, it made up my mind for me.

People ask me this all the time but honestly I cannot remember. Seems like I've always known what one was and just knew that it was the sexiest car I've ever seen. I never thought of buying one cause I figured they are probably 100k cars so I just admired them for a while then I ran across some online that were affordable and was like no way. Pure ecstacy. I was actually going to get a 92 or so NSX til I saw that FD's were even cheaper.
Also an FD as your first car will teach you many many things about money management and will make you mature rather quickly unless you are just the sort that stays immature forever.

I saw one back in 92 inside a shopping mall in Dallas. I already was about to buy my first car (1st gen) and then realized that the red Rx7 in the mall was the same car just newer. I was like this is what my car grows up to look like? My interest for the 1st gen I was buying then grew much more. It took me 11 more years of dreaming till I finally got one. In that time period, I bought a another 1st gen and a 2nd gen to ease my craving for the 3rd gen.

High autoshop class. A friend of mine was showing me peices of the rotary engine. I thought what a piece of crap. 1.3L? If it doesn't have a V8 then it wasn't worth looking at. Then the 3rd gen came out and I couldn't find an excuse not to like it. Although it was short on HP/TQ compared to other cars I soon realized that it's shortcomings were made up for in the size, weight, and simplicity of the motor. Bought 2 FCs since and an FD 1 1/2 years ago.

My friend got a TII as his first car, and showed me what FDs were like, it wasn't very long before I started craving teh FD. Haven't gotten one yet, and I'm a sophomore in college, I'm shooting for senior year. Otherwise, I guess I'll have to wait until I'm a "grown up."

almost 2 yrs ago driving home(auto 89 civic hatch) at night around 11:40.. stopped at a red and this exotic looking black car pulls up next to me to make a left. sounded like nothing i'd heard before first thing i noticed, but i couldn't see the details too much because it was so dark. light turns green and i watch it whirrr off and some weird sounds (hks bov) admiring the curves. AND i didn't know what the hell car it was. never thought i would get one (or could even afford).
anyway 4 or 5 months before this my brother had trying to get me into watching initial d so i did sit down and watch a few of the first episodes but i thought it was a stupid corny japanese show..
so as i drove the rest of the way home being completely annoyed by not knowing what car that was i just saw i kept thinking and thinking, about the weird sounds etc. then i remembered something in initial d about rotary engine in some car called a rx7. found some pictures online perfect match and went to http://www.turborx7.com/bovmedia.htm and found out wth that whooshing sound was over the rotary engine whirr.
as it turned out 1/2 yr later i was looking for a new car, nothing appealed to me i kept thinking about the fd (i'd been reading about rotaries and fd for the past yr lol). decided to get a fc, since i didn't have that much $$ but knew i wouldn't be truly happy with any car except a fd. 6 months later i bought my brilliant black 94 pep

My parents got me a How to Draw Cars book and it had an FD in it. This was like when I was 11. I was like wow thats a tight car. The only one in the book that i would draw was that one. Then when I got into imports and bought my first Super Street magazine it had a nice White 94 Veilside FD. Then about 3 months ago me and my dad decided my 240SX wasnt going anywhere. So i had to choose a car. I chose the FD. Now i finally got my childhood dream car. Well im still 16 so i guess its not to inspiring.

When I was 15 years old. In Toronto downtown saw a Yellow 355 speeding with a yellow rx7 close behind.
My eyes barely saw the 355 but were stuck on the FD.
Now I want a cym but have a 93 tring VR.
