Wheels locking up on roll start attempt. Help?
Hey guys i bought my rx7 a few months back and it needed an ignition switch, well i finally found a switch and installed it and now i just need to get it started. The starter is also bad in the car so ive tried to roll start it. When i drop the clutch tho the wheels just completely lock up and ive left alot of skidmarks from it on my driveway.
Has anyone else ever had this issue? Or does anyone know wat might be wrong or how to fix it?

IIRC, the front bolt is 19mm. Put a 19mm socket on the front e-shaft bolt (located inside the main pulley, the lowest one in the middle of the engine). You might need a short extender then use a breaker bar. See if you can turn the engine engine or if the engine is locked.
You'll need to remove the IC to get to it if you have a a stock IC or a stock mounted IC.

The cure was to get it rebuilt.
FYI- The wheels should not lock even if the ignition is bad. Nothing should keep the engine from turning even if it doesnt start. Yes you should be able to pop start the thing even in first. I do it all the time since I don't have my AWS anymore.

As mentioned above, the starter is probably just fine. It is just that pesky engine thing that is the problem. Seized engine. Sorry for your misfortune. You are in GA so probably not too far from www.rotaryresurrection.com Kevin will take care of you.

I thought I remembered that someone had freed-up a stuck engine by injecting automatic transmission fluid into the spark plug holes, etc., and letting it soak until rust dissolved. Maybe someone else can chime in here with input on this method...
This assumes, of course, that there is nothing else wrong except for a little corrosion. If something major is wrong, attempts to get it to turn over could cause more damage.

Odds are it is a spun bearing but it could be carbon locked I guess. It needs rebuilt to be worth a damn. There is nothing cheap about the car. If you dont have $5-8K in the bank you are willing to dump at the car then sell it and find another when you are in a better financial situation.

Considering the history, the probability of anything other than a rebuild fixing this is extremely low.
