Wheel Hop solved!

If your looking to stop the infamous wheel hop in these cars, I highly suggest the Banzai-Racing differential brace. Got mine last week and it is sweet!

What else had you tried first that didn't work?

I haven't tried any other braces. I guess I got lucky picking this one. Now I don't have to try anything else. All I know is the teeth rattling hop I was getting is completely gone.

do you have solid differential mounts or the stock rubber ones? Do you have a tranny or engine brace too?

I haven't checked to see if my car has wheel hop, but i have a transmission brace and solid diff mounts and my driveline feels rock solid. I was trying to decide on putting and engine torque brace and differential brace as well, but im not sure how much it would help beyond my current setup

Everything on the car is stock. No other braces. I would like to try the engine torque brace just to keep the engine steady. But the diff brace definately works. Not that I'm drag racing, I just want everthing to be tight. Banzai has polyurethane motor mounts which would be nice I imagine.

has anyone with solid diff mounts noticed a difference by adding a brace? or would adding a brace be pointless with solid mounts?

Do you get wheel hop with solid mounts? If you do, the Banzai diff brace would not be pointless.

In my experience the aftermarket trailing arms and toe links have always stopped an fd from wheel hopping, a diff brace isnt a bad idea either though.

This is what solved my wheel hop:

This was after a Diff brace, RE trailing arms, RE toe links, and solid diff mounts. I'm sure the floppy stock suspension has something to do with it. If i went with some stiff springs and shocks it probably would have taken care of it, but i wouldn't be able to launch as hard.

Same here! I put on trailing arms, engine brace, and the banzai diff and still had wheel hop with nitto drag radials. After I put on the ET Streets, the wheel hop disappeared.

Yes that works on the 1/4 mile track, but what on the streets..?? Then you have to do something....

With enough power and street tires you can get wheel hop with all the braces and toe links and trailing arms.
Like stated the et street tires are the best to get better 60 ft times and stop wheel hop, i went from 2.0 60's to 1.52 60's.

Ive got solid diff mounts, dragon diff brace, dragon gearbox brace, hard launch bars an toe links, and all front and rear bushes have been replaced with powerflex. wheel hop is no longer a issue not even a lil bit

did you do all this at once? Or one at a time? Did you notice a difference between solid dif mounts and then adding a brace after having solid mounts?

I have all poly mounts on the transmission and engine, and have not installed the brace on the diff yet. I have it though, but am concerned in driveability of having the rear diff braced. It is a daily driver that I like to keep that way.

Is there much of a differnece other then launching in how the car acts with the solid mount diff?

Banzai Diff Brace Excellent bit of kit. But you do need to make sure all your bushes are good. ie Engine and Diff.

Still need a brace with solid mounts as it stops the diff from twisting on heavy launches.

Fitting a engine damper is not worth the bother if all your bushes are good, Its just bling.

Has anyone tried the MT ET Street Radials? They have the standard and now the Radials II, which gives you a lot more tire sizes.

I have the Banzai diff brace and still get wheel hop at the track... go figure..

As for the ET streets. I had the original ones on my TII powered 1st Gen and I absolutely loved them... great traction once they get broken in. I plan on getting another set once I am ready to hit the track again with my FD.
