You'll know it when you get wheel hop! The whole car will shake violently and you'll even be able to see the shifter shaking back and forth. First time I had it happen I was convinced I must've broken something. Like ttpowerd said, the wheels are hopping, so they keep grabbing and then hopping again. Tends to happen at the limit of traction. If you totally break the wheels loose, it usually won't hop.

I've heard that it's a result of the toe-in not being held stable under hard power. As the toe-in gets bad enough, it hops back into place and then does it again. There's extra links you can buy and bushings and stuff meant for drag racing, but I've heard it's so much trouble that you're better off just not giving it so much gas on the launch and not worrying about it.

I got the m2 trailing arms that are supposed to stop or significantly reduce wheel hop. Look for the thread I started "Installed m2 trailing arms" it was only a couple of days ago that I wrote that so it should be easy to find. I have not tried to lay into it yet bc my clutch is slipping so i don't know how well it helped but we will see if a month or so

Sounds like you need M2 Trailing Arms.

LoL

Is it right its when the wheels jump off the floor and spins then grips, does this sound right?

Why does'nt the Lsd stop the car from doing this? is it becouse the back end is light and maybe the Suspention is to Soft?

Would it only do this from Stop starts or would it do it half way around a corner?

My sentiments exactly mr rx, when mine did this!

Yeah, the wheels are physically hopping of the ground, and I've even heard of the hop being visible in extreme cases. The LSD doesn't help because BOTH tires get to hopping, and the LSD is just making sure that they both spin. I have heard that it isn't so much because due to the tail being light (which would just result in spinning, not hopping), but more so because the stock suspension can't keep both wheels pointing perfectly straight (thus the aftermarket trailing arms).

I autocross and have had fairly bad chatter when searching for traction leaving a turn, but generally it's only on hard launches. I assume it's just because launching puts the most stress on everything. I think the slop in my drivetrain isn't helping anything...

Wheelhop is no fun. My truck wheels have done that to me a couple times. Once it made CD player skip.
