Whats your MPG?
I currently have 212 on the trip-o-meter... and I still have 1/3 of a tank left... with 80% of that Highway and 20% City... Blew me away... I'm thinking there might be something wrong with my Odometer...

I've been averaging about 15-17mpg, but that's because I only drive my car in the mountains, so it rarely sees any normal driving. On the road I've hit 27-28mpg twice, but I usually get around 24-25 on mainly highway trips.

What does XXX miles per tank even mean? The stock gauge reads empty when there are still 3+ gallons left in the tank.
Not only do these threads appear every month or two, but it has been pretty well established that most of the numbers people report are close to meaningless because of the variety of (mostly innacurate) ways people calculate their consumption.

1. All cars are built with a fuel reserve, and i'm sure you knew that.
2. I agree, there are numerous ways ppl calculate and that can really throw off the numbers.

And, at least on my car, the fuel light some times goes out when I stop the car and start it again and does not illuminate again for 10+ miles. There is enough here for 20-30% of error, which makes any comparisons moot.
Yep, i was agreeing with you about ppl using different methods.
the easiest way to figure out miles per gallon is go fill up your tank, drive it till almost empty, fill it completely again.
write down the number of gallons it takes to fill the tank. Then take the milage from your tripmeter and divide it by the number of gallosn you just put in.
walah your actual mpg.
this miles per tank think is odd.

Oh and i do about 8mpg but my LM-1 wideband is telling me in running really rich so maybe with my PFC installation on saturday it may improve a little.
i remember reading a thread a couple of months ago where someone was getting 20+ mpg with a 400 bhp FD (someone correct me if im wrong)
i get about 13 mpg mixed, 16 mpg highway, and all i have is intake =(.
so basically from what i've read, after replacing fuel filter, plug wires, spark plugs, 02 sensor, and installing a full exhaust (highflow cat not midpipe) with upgraded fuel pump and a properly tuned apex pfc (or other aftermarket ecu) will give you more power and better mpg........am i right?

+1 That's the way I calculate it too.
Why do people base mpg on how miles traveled? The needle could be on "E", but could have anything from 1-3 gallons left.
