miles traveled doesn't convert to miles per gallon..

200 miles at full throttle will burn more gas than 200 miles coasting (duuh).. why don't people understand? It's just common sense.

I used to get about 240-250 per tank, granny style driving, and recently I just redid my grounding system, and I saw 300+ last week. Not bad at all.

Best mpg trip was from Daytona Speedway to Macon, GA = One tank of gas.

Generally it was getting 23-24 mpg highway w/ the stock injectors.

I get around 14-16mpg, usually 15mpg, as calculated by dividing the number of miles on the odo by the amount of gas I put in.

Number of miles on the odo when the needle is on E is meaningless because the gas level bobber has gotten soaked with gas and weighted down after 14 years, so it reads incorrectly low. My low level light still comes on and that is when there's around 3.5-3 gallons left in the tank.

how do you people get 300 + miles before fill up?!?! i baby the **** outta my gas pedal, but i still get 16 mpg highway. I know that you guys are saying that i shouldnt be worried about mpg, but damn 16 mpg highway?? there's gotta be something wrong here.... i just got my car, so its basically stock except for aluminum AST and greddy intake.

You may have the same issue I do with the level sensor being soaked, how much gas do you put in when the needle hits E? FDs have a 20gal tank.

well i never go past 1/4 tank. At the moment im at 1/4 tank and i only drove for 180 miles of mixed driving (70% highway 30% city). I still need to change the fuel filter, 02 sensor, plugs, and wires, but how much would that really help?

Talking who cares?

~15.3 combined city/hwy average.... but who cares? If you were looking for gas mileage you wouldn't have bought a rotary engined car!

My FD used to get 10-12 MPG in the city (driving around with a lead foot). Normally, I'd get 17.5 (combined avg. city & highway)

My new car gets on 18-19 MPG (combined avg. city & highway) and a whopping 29-31 MPG on the freeway! 2003 C5 Z06 D: 405 hp & 400ft/lbs Stock D:

my car got 21.X mpg on the way down and back from RotorFest in New Jersey. I get about 350 miles per tank (forgive me for not knowing exactly how much), i never let it go past 1/8th of a tank. (BPU+, fuel set up: 1200cc/550cc injectors, 255lph fuel pump, Power FC mild tune.) Running 'safely' rich according to my AEM UEGO gauge.

my 2 cents:
im glad no one's complaining. i wouldnt expect anyone to buy an RX-7 because "it's a fuel efficient, economy car that's great for the environment." its a sport car, not a Hybrid. when i drive my RX-7, i really dont care about how much im getting for MPGs or out of a full tank, i got out to enjoi it. that's not why i bought an FD. i obviously did care enough to calculate it, though.

i get about 13 mpg mixed, 16 mpg highway, and all i have is intake =(.

so basically from what i've read, after replacing fuel filter, plug wires, spark plugs, 02 sensor, and installing a full exhaust (highflow cat not midpipe) with upgraded fuel pump and a properly tuned apex pfc (or other aftermarket ecu) will give you more power and better mpg........am i right?
The more mod = less mpg

I get about 14 highway, 10 city with heavily mod.

My FD gives me about 12 daily, and 18-19 freeway. That's if I keep off boost.

My C5 is 17-20 daily, and 25-30 freeway averaging 80-90mph.

The FD is obviously not daily driven for this reason.
