-Edit-

You will probably lose more oil than you would like.

not as bad as letting a girl drive your car.... she hit a small concrete statue of dog that somene put in the road and busted my oil pan oil pump and front bumper of my car. so when did you notice it wasnt tight? mins hours or days after your filter was changed? the longer the wait the more chance something negative would happen.

I didnt lose any oil, the side of the block is dry, I just bumped it and noticed it spun a little. Its been like that for prolly umm about 4 weeks since the oil was done last.

Your car will catch on FIRE!!!

This happened to me in my GT-3 race RX-7. Either my oil filter got loose or, I blew the rubber o-ring out of the filter/pedestral and sprayed high pressure oil all over the engine compartment and up my windshield. It immediately flashed into a engine fire.

Tighten the filter, and in the future always make sure to firmly tighten it. The car sees very high oil pressures, good thing you found the problem before something really shitty happened. Consider yourself lucky.

The worse thing that could happen is you blow your engine and we all come kick your *** for not fixing it!

Well, you'll spin a bearing and need a rebuild, it won't really 'blow.' Lots o cash to fix, like $2-3,000.

WOW Too much crappy stuff could happen... I never lost any oil, I check it on a regular basis. So maybe it was just in the beginnings of its loosened state Thanks for the responses!!
