Whats the second green connector on the engine wiring harness?
There are two green connectors up by the water thermoswitch, one goes to the thermoswitch anybody know where the other one goes? I can't find anything else to plug it into. There are no codes

a third? maybe a friend is playing a trick on you because there should only be 2 green connectors in that area. post a pic if you want any real confirmation.. i don't see how there could be another unless you installed the wrong sensor into the water pump housing or upper fuel rail. both the water thermosensor and fuel rail temp sensors use the same green connector style pigtails.

which is why im curious what he has plugged into either the water thermosensor location or the fuel temp. there is also the plug for the solenoid in the rats nest but i don't see how you could confuse that with the others that are plugged in all in a row(there should be no missing solenoids).

say you had an aftermarket secondary fuel rail, would there be a fuel temp conector in it? What would happen if the fuel temp connector was hooked up into the water thermswitch connector?

The PFC will turn on the fuel speed relay to up the fuel flow rate for vapor lock prevention based upon the fuel temperature.
If they were reversed the PFC would not track the engine coolant temperature and would stay in cold start condition all of the time. So check the temperature tracking with your gauges (hopefully you have an aftermarket temp. gauge).
Lastly, check the wire colors with reference to the wiring diag's to make sure they are to the right temp sensor.

yah the EGR is a blue connector and is Brown/Black and Blue/Green. I find trying to figure out the wire colors the hardest b/c they really discolor pretty far back into the harness. If you want to double check it you'll probably have to strip the plastic off a good ways back in the loom.

Let's see
The brown / Black is the common reference ground for several sensors.
Both the fuel and water temperature sensors have the Brown / Black.
The Water temp sensor's second wire is Green / White
The Fuel temp sensor's second wire is Brown / Yellow
So if there is a green wire in a green connector attached to the water neck you're OK.
I didn't know that the two green connectors are keyed the same...
