Whats my next mod?

Im sure the subject has been beaten but i have to ask..... I have a DP and CB, no other engine mods. I am seeing 12psi at times and want to know what my next mod should be and what i will benefit from it other than an extended life span of my motor? I have heard that stock ecu is ok with 12psi and that its not, which is true and what is the diff between ecu upgrade and power fc? And what should i expect to pay for either? If im planning to do cold air intake mod and IC should i wait to map ecu or power fc for those mods as well? Sorry for all the questions, i just really wanna do whats best for my baby and my wallet. Thanks to all that reply

if you have the ability to have the car tuned the power fc is the way to go, however an ecu remap (without a custom tune) is esentially only as good as a premade powerfc map. I would get the power fc if it were my car.

is 12 psi too high? who knows... some people have gotten away with it, others have blown engines. personally i wouldent risk it on my car.

should you get the ecu upgrade before the ic? definitly! between the intercooler and intakes you will be way beyond what the factory ecu can compensate for.

FYI IMHO (acronym hell) the restrictions put in place from the extra piping of the cai have never outweighed the air temp difference. (i have seen this time and time again on my shops dyno) A shorty intake is just fine in my book.

hope this helps, Mike

There are two items that are good for your car and your wallet.

1. Manual boost controller. For less than $10 you can get control of your boost, and get it back to 10 psi. 10 psi is safe with the stock ecu.

2. Cheap Bastard Intake. For $70, you can get a really nice mod to your stock airbox. It will perform like the expensive cold air intakes, and will pass smog.
