What's the max. you can boost on your primary turbo?
Trying to assess if I have turbo or solenoid problems and am wondering what everyone with stock turbo's and stock engine with all the bolt-ons (ypipe, cb, dp, hiflo cat, IC, pfc) can boost on their primary on a hot day (90 degrees).
On four seperate occassions I was able to hit .86 bar. I helped it along by plugging the precontrol pill so all the exhaust boost would be guaranteed to go to the primary.
.86 doesn't sound that bad on a 3rd gear pull and hot day does it????

No, I would say that that is a decent 12-13 psi.
The max you can boost, that is if you had a boost controller, all the bolt-ons, stock twins, and enough room on a fuel map to prevent your engine from blowing up in the process I believe is 18psi. Keep in mind that this is not good for your turbo's.
Max safe boost I believe is 15 psi or a little over 1 bar.

I have trouble getting 12psi out of my primary too on hot days. it's kinda weird, sometimes it will boost well, then other times it struggles to get up there. I am actually going to take apart my turbos this weekend and make sure everything is in check.
Have you had your turbos off before? If so, did you be sure to get the two pieces of the exhaust housing to line up on the same plane, where it meets the exhaust manifold? (i have a feeling this is contributing to my problem)
also, if you took them off, are all the wheels in good shape? not bent, chipped, etc.

my car only has 21k and as far as I know 2nd owner the turbo's have never needed to be inspected/removed.
I am hesitant to say there is a problem with the turbo and this maybe rather normal behaviour... At least I'd like to think that.

I can hit .9 kg/cm2 on a warm day w/o trying too hard when I disable seq control on the pfc. btw if you're reading off your pfc it's measured in kg/cm2 not bar. My mods are listed in the sig
