a friend of mine told me about some standing mile competition north of Tampa where they have a 4mile stretch of airport runways that they use, Hopefully ill be able to get a chance to run on there with video! otherwise ill be in the one in Alabama or Texas!
besides that 177 in my car against a Suzuki gsxr750
when you don't look at the speed o you tend to go faster than you can imagine, once you see the speed o your like OH S*^T

the FD does have lot less drag than lot of cars, its lower than allot of cars out there (including the corvette) and its lighter which means you don't need that much to get to top speed the only problem we have is our gears are relatively high compared to a lot of other cars

240 km/h isn't that bad. I've taken my moms accord to 230 km/h before the check engine light came on
I did 240 km/h the second day I owned the FD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g6lKYNCUJA , a few months back while down in Florida I did 260 km/h CAUSE THE ROADS ARE SO DAMN AWESOME IN THE STATES wtf. As long as its a flat stretch of road it doesn't feel all that scary at all. It only gets crazy if you do it over crests/hills.

I took my FD up to 260 or 270kph one night (had done on 2 other occasions) but this time I hit a divit in the road and the car changed lanes on me. I havnt gone past 180 since!!! That sort of stuff is way too dangerous on a public road as the surfaces over here are pretty crap but I wasnt as smart 5 years ago and I have toned it down a bit. If you make one **** up, your dead at that speed.

Just under 130 so far.
Soon will see 150 no problem.
I must tune and get to know the car better before doing anything too crazy.
Lots of long straight roads around where i live and as long as you stay in the right areas- nary a cop to be found.

I've been at 141 in my old '90 GTU before I flipped it. Before that I had my automatic '96 Mits Galant up to 133 with a blown rear wheel bearing and no exhaust after the cat. That was alot of fun........

Not saying i dont believe any of you guys but i cant understand how you get to those speed with mildly modded cars running twins ( assume most of you are twins unless otherwise stated)...iv had 178mph out of my TD06 running 15spi @ 8100rpm & that was gps tracked...so how you guys manage it on twins i just cant understand...

Let me know how your project turns out... Because that would be my next mod to the 8 if I blow it up.

did a top speed run and i have to say that the car hit 180 pretty quick than i would imagine and i passed the 180 speed limiter (just kept moving) hit 190+ and then a jutter, i got scared and thought to myself i blew the engine (there goes my months of reliability) but the motor was fine, it ran perfectly. NOW EVEN THOUGH I DIDNT HAVE A VIDEO FOR THE 190+MPH RUN the power fc only said 282kmh. now is the speedometer correct or is the Computer correct?
from top speed (kmh) RPM, water temperature (celcius), Injector duty
ON THAT RUN I WAS PUSHING 14LBS (448HP)

For me, that's the only way to go ! First I wanted to go with an 20B, but there are things to do with the crossmember and many more I really don't like and trust in....

Goto the 20B section to read about other options.. Its for an FD but the principle behind it is pretty much the same for an RX8.. I also have 2 x 20Bs and have been reading/researching about them.. There are ways to put a 20B in unlike how some people do it..

Really? Can I buy one of these???
I've read a lot about the 20B swap in the rx8club.com...that would be the ultimate for me....but you have to cut out the crossmember and some other things...
So can I buy one of your engines?
