whats the diff between r1 and fd?

im new to rx7's.. been thinknabout gettn one.. like a 93-95... but whats the differences in them? thanks

R1 is the special Airforce fighter Jet mazda made with a Rotary engine.

The R1 is a model of the FD. Use the Search button, and FAQ section this will save you alot of time with useless posts.

FD is the chasis code for third generation RX-7s.

R1 is the 'racing' trim level of FDs, it has dual oil coolers, a front strut tower bar, stiff suspension and suede seats.

thanks alot guys. i was wanting a 240 with a sr20... but i couldnt find one in good shape... but a got a new job and i can afford to take a loan out to get one of these... any of these get under ten?

no biggie, dont lose sleep over it. i have used search many-a-time and found very helpful. i was just trying to ease the blow of harshness garnered toward the new user with a "me too" clause.
