Whats that burning smell

The last couple of times I've had the car out of the garage I have noticed an acrid wiring / plastic like burnt smell comming from around the passenger side of the engine and the smell comes with the heat waves off the turbos / exhaust. No drips no leaks and everything is new car clean. Now I removed everything above the turbochargers and noticed what appears to be an indication of coolant that may be dripping from the upper turbo cooling line hose connection down and onto the heat shield; I say this because there is a goopy substance on my fingers when I wipe around the coolant line and the heat shield (nothing "wet").

I wondering if the antifreeze will smell like this or if anyone has experience with such. I'll redo the hose connection, obviously, but don't want to button it all back up if someone knows something different....

Since yours sounds stock, it's probably not this, but I got that smell when my Apexi RX6 kit melted my wiring harness...

Burned antifreeze will smell sweet like caramel.

Stock +/-. Down pipe etc but otherwise from the turbos aspect yes - stock. I pressurized the coolant system and did find the upper turbo coolant hose connection dripping very slightly so that's fixed now. I also checked the down pipe to turbo to manifold and to engine flanged connections and no exhaust leakage is evident.

Another bit of awareness is, in this cooler weather I'm about 0.4 AFR leaner (about 15.7 AFR ) at cruise which will realize hotter exhaust components......

I put a metal plate over a torch and dripped some anti-freeze on the hot plate. It turned goopy after the water boiled out and did smell somewhat like what the car had...
