RX-7...sure the WRX might seem bullet proof now with less than 50k miles, but do you really think that the subaru motor is going to withold higher boost? We'll see how good the wrx is in a few years

Get the earlier versions of WRX (ones with no turbo), in your position (not much experience behind the wheel and shouldn't spend alot of money to mod the car) the NA WRX is the one for you AWD for all year round conidtions. Wait til you have the money and the experience then you can look for a FD. Right now you are just not ready.

Umm...Subaru has never made an N/A WRX. I think you're referring to the 2.5 RS, which is also a fine automobile.

All around drivability / daily driver = WRX
All out performance / race duty = RX7

I am a Subaru and Mazda rotary owner.....I love them both. They both have characteristics that no other car has.......bottom line.

The WRX tranny is notorously weak from my experience. 1st and 2nd gear will be the first to go if you race it often. Also, Subaru of America is really bad with customer service (again, from my experience). They have not replied back in any way concerning my warranty issue and the dealer only compounds the problem.

However, if I were you I would get the WRX over the 7 b/c the 7 requires a lot more initial maintenance than the WRX, plus there is a greater chance of you having to replace the motor than on a WRX.

DC2 BBQ...

You are right on the warranty issues and dealer service support....they are week in those areas. I also had probs w/ my wifes GT wagon. We have the "shift-shock" problem. But, all in all.....it is a GREAT CAR.

Def. the WRX.. I think the people saying rx7 are not considering what's best for this young guy being that he is 16 and it's his first car.
