The stock shifter has a bushing attached to it.. it is on the very bottom of the shifter and is a yellow/orange color.. (It is the plastic piece that moves around the joint in the bottom) I saved myself some $ and pulled the bushing off the oem shifter and snapped it onto the B&M shifter. It stopped the rattling.

I love my B&M short shifter too. no problem for me here. I guess it depends on the installations.

I also have a B&M Short Shifter. It's not as short as I expected but there's no problems with it. I also put on an aluminum bushing. The B&M takes some effort to shift into gears but it's not something that bothers me. I have the other shifter bushings if anyone needs to replace them. They're the larger bushings, not the small one that goes on the end. PM if you need them.
