What year JDM do I have

Hey guys purchased a front clip from japan a few weeks ago. I have done a search and have not been able to come up with very much info. I was wondering if you could help me out...and yes I did run a search!

I am trying to find out which year engine I picked up. I know that 96 and later came with 16-bit ECU and a hard "y" pipe. Is this true? I read it in a post but as you all may know they are not always accurate.

Is there a different code on the ECU for 96 and later engines? It has 2 oil coolers so I am assuming that it is the RZ model.

Thanks for your help,
Z

hmmm wish i could but there is no vin on the vehicle that is readily noticable. Is there a location somewhere on the FD fame that I can look? I know on my FB it is directly behind the wheel but I could not see one when I checked last. Does someone know what the 16-bit mazda code for the ECU is?

The vin should be on the firewall just above the intake manifold.

Yeah you need more info, a VIN might help, but it will also say the model too on that plate.

Its not RZ just because of the 2 oil coolers. ALL or FDs have them except maybe in 92 when the FD first came out, I think it became standard in 93 for the JDM

I think N3A7 is a j-spec series 6 ECU ('93-'95)
