What would you do????

Here is my problem. I am in my last year of college. I am selling my acura cl in order to get a faster car because my two best friends and my girlfriends brother all have Supra TT's and they are really pissing me off. My problem is this. I will have about 16k to put towards the car. The choice is between putting a turbo on an Integra, or buying an FD. The modding issue won't be an issue because my best friend owns import sports in MD and he will be able to mod and fix the car for everything at cost and no labor. My main dilema is that I know a lot about the FD, two of my friends have them and they love them. But will it be reliable enough to drive back and forth to school three times a week(only 20 miles each way). I will have all fluids and reliabillity mods done instantly. Will the car start every time I leave school at night? etc.etc. Sorry for the long post I just need to here some opinions that aren't bias because all my friends want me to get the FD, so of course they will say it will be fine, what do you guys think? Thanks in advance for all the opinions.

BUY AN FD. Don't go with a turbo integra... a stock FD will be MUCH more fun for you... trust me.

Get a ae86 throw a 3 rotor in it and dust all their asses.. lol

No seriously. Don't get the turbo integra, in street prepared trim, it won't keep up with any of your friends car, especially not on top end.

A turbo integra, a FD and Supra TT are all in a different class in my book

Turbo integra = 4 cyl econo car that wasn't meant to be a "great" performer or a "sports" car.

Stock FD = Pure sports car, very fun, and RWD. A couple years ago it was said to be the best handling sports car ever to come out of japan. Don't know if this still holds true or not.

Stock Supra TT = Japanese supercar, powerhouse. Has good handling but best straightline performance.

If you do the reliability mods, change the oil every 2500 miles, and give the car hell every once in a while(to keep carbon from building up lol) then a FD should be fine.

With the driving schedule you outlined, you will have no problem. The car can be very reliable if properly maintained and not improperly modified. Other than what you said in your post, the only adjustment you will have to make is some turbo cool down time. If you've been driving on the highway for 20 mins and then get to the school parking lot, you should let the car idle for 30 sec. to a minute. That can be a long time when you're just sitting there waiting for the time to elapse and you're late for class. You don't want to get into a situation in which you come roaring into the parking lot and then switch the engine off. Other than that, you should be okay.

Did someone say ae86 w/ a 3rotor? I love this video
http://www.3rotor.com/video/speed_kings/3rotorAE86.asf

I drive to work 5 days a week at 16 miles oneway, 160 miles a week. Hasn't failed me yet. If you get an Integra it will always be looked at as an Integra, even if it's fast.

yeah gsrsol that's why I mentioned that.. That car is way sick. People say it's sped up at the part where they take off but it's not.. It really takes off that fast.

Just watch the white lines in the middle of the road and you can tell the video was NOT sped up. Those are some stupid people not believing a single turbo 3 rotor in a AE86!

Haha.. Speaking about Acura's..
Last night on the way home.
I saw a tricked out integra.
Lowered body kit and huge wing..
And Graffics on the side. and
Rims and full exhaust sound.
Guess what..
CAR was UGLY. It looked to me as
trying to hard..
Lucky that i was driving my daily driver, CIVIC.
If I had my FD3S. would of spanked the fool
and sent him home crying... LOL

Trust me. You can not compare a FD3S to
an Integra. NOt even in teh same category.
FD3S with smooth graceful curves and etc.
Car is beautiful.. STOCK.. Ad sleek headlights
Hood and 99spec wing and RIMS.. Car looks
Exotic.

And trust me.. Acuras, civics, Z24 and etc
Get absolutely NO RESPECT on the road..
I think.. " why spend all the money moding those
cars" WHY not buy a BETTER car???

IMO

No question. Buy an FD. Do the reliability mods, maintain it religiously, and enjoy it! I bought mine nearly 2 years ago, best decision I have ever made. I put 16K on it the first year as a daily driver with no problems!

an FD will just be loads of fun... the handling alone makes it a blast to drive.

NOT EVEN CLOSE

FD all the way. My FD is a DAILY DRIVER. Granted it only has 58k on it..and it has ALL the reliability mods, I change the oil every 1500 miles and only have quality mechanics work on it etc etc. and it is modded also.

If you treat it right, it'll treat you right and it is an AWESOME car that will kill and be more fun than an integra, easy. I regret I'm selling mine soon for a house but i'm already saving up for another one.

I might be in Rockville area (germantown) if you want to get together next Sat, PM me.
