twin 3037's
That is pretty nice but... dont those turbos reach $10,000+
You could get a T78/T88/RX6 and still have a bunch of money left over. What about higher boost.... Those twins might be able to push out some crazy numbers with race fuel.

are you guys thinkaing about the same turbos?? he is talking about the HKS 3037 kit, ya know...like the HKS 2835 kit for the Supra, which is one of the laggiest turbo setups you could buy. well, the 3037s are bigger than the 2835s, and i know there is no possible way of those turbos spooling full boost before 5000. even the quickest spooling turbos for the FD (RX6 and T04E) dont hit full boost before 3000. (yes yes, i know....spool up time of different turbos is dependant upon the setup of everything esle, but that is beyond the point).

but dont expect you can strap on a large turbo and make insane power (remember folks, we are talking about FDs here, not Supras
). you could be running a ****** T100 or something crazy on an FD, but the bottleneck is the porting of the engine. why do you think the upper limit on streetable single turbo setups for a 13B is in the range of 450 rwhp?? because that is how much the porting will allow, regardless of turbo size. if you want more than that, you are looking at two bottles of the big ones or bridge porting. bottom line, on a streetported motor, HKS Twins will make just as much power as say a T04S. but the Twins will make the same power at a lower boost pressure because they flow more.
If anyone is familiar with Axia Sport, they're now into the 58's at Tsubaka Speedway, which is nipping on the heels of RE's SuperG2000 mobile, in the 57's, and may have eclipsed PanSpeed for 2nd place. I think their official time was 58.886 and to make this post relevant, they're using twin 2835's. I believe issue 14 of RX7 Magazine has a writeup on the car. I'll scan pics of the setup later this evening if I have time. I think the 30 series would be a bit too laggy. I've been researching the GT line for some time and may end up going with a single GT3040 or a straight GT35. According to the aussies, the 30 series is the "grunter", great for low end and midrange and a decent top end, quick spool up to boot. No real numbers in terms of spool up or top end hp however. Just about ANY turbo is laggy on the Toyota, part of it's nature being an inline 6. Actually, it's probably pretty dependent on it's turbo manifold design too.
