what are these for?

I've been tooling around after failing emissions and found this plugged line and lonely harness. What do each of them go to and what are they for?

The harness is for the EGR sensor that many cars don't have (it was only on 93 CA cars or something like that).

Right. EGR was on 93 Cali, all 94s, and none of the 95s.

Ah, so what does that blue plug go to now? I have it too. Mine's a '93.

Mine failed emissions too, which seems odd, considering I have the air-pump on there still, stock main-cat, and just basic mods: intake, dp, and catback

HC's and CO's were 3 times the limit.

I believe that is for automatic trans cars. There is nothing on the other end of the line either so there is no vaccume leak.

A FSM (factory service manual) is your friend. Available online (free) or at the dealer ($$)

You could easily have answered all your questions by looking it up.

How can you work on a car without one?

It has nice drawings with the names & purpose of all the things your asking about (& more).

The best part is that it's all FACT, not someone "best" guess.

One hose goes to the oil filler neck nipple for crankcase ventilation.

The other goes to the oil injection nipples into the block, under the primary fuel injectors.

found more stuff

Looks like some wiring was tampered with, and I found two more plugged lines. One on the underside of the UIM and one that runs to the engine bay along the top of the tranny. Is any of this stuff important?
