RPM rise fast without pulling the car and then slowly settles down to the speed of the transmission. You will notice it more in higher gears than in 1st and 2nd, that is unless it is really bad.

when u accelrate and your rpms fly up.
example when you floor 2nd gear and your rpms go from 3k to 7k in like 2 sec and your car is still goin the samr speed. pretty much if that is starting to begin get a new clutch because once your clutch goes out its almost impossible to drive your car espically uphill.
