what size are the rear axles nuts?

I'm about to go to the auto parts store and pick up a few things...need to pick up the correct size socket in order to start my diff swap(blew mine up on tuesday).
As long as i'm asking, any tips for removal?
TIA,

I don't think you have to remove the axle hub nuts to remove the axles from the diff.

I'd just remove the lower pillowball bolts on the rear uprights as that should allow the upright to pivot away and give enough room for the axle to pull from the diff when you pry the inner joints out of the diff case. If it's not just remove both the lower and upper bolts on the rear upright, then you can pull the axle/upright assembly out as far as you want without having to actually remove the axle from the hubs. Watch the brake lines and the ABS sensor.
