What Size intercooler?

Hi,

I was wondering what size intercooler you guys recomend, which one has better flow

450/300/760

or 600/300/760

I curretnly have the stock front bar, so im unusre the bigger core will be useful to me,

Will i have to relocate my battery or get a smaller one??

Thanks

Depends If Your Going Stock Or Single

If Single Go With A 3 Row

If Stock Go With A Pettit Or Pfs

Surface area (height and length) are more important than thickness. The answer to your question depends upon your application, as far as boost and rwhp. Also, keep in mind that a fmic will lead to more pressure drop and less responsiveness due to the longer piping.

And you do not need a 3 row for every single turbo setup. Likewise, the pfs and pettit are not bad for the stock twins, but not the only choices. Darkphantom, you might want to hold off on the advice until you have some firsthand experience, and perhaps mention it in your post to back up your statements.

I have an M2/ASP race smic, which (if memory serves) has ~750 cubic inches of volume, vs the stocker at ~125 in^3. I have been very happy with it for over 3 yrs now, from 10 psi to 18 psi and from 300 rwhp to 400 rwhp, for road racing, drag racing, and street driving.

I currently have a single series 5 hi flow turbo, microtech computer, exhaust, air filter,

I want an intercooler that will have maximum effiency in my car, i dun want to spend big money on a massives core when it is no use to me.

For cooling, sure, but for lowering pressure drop, thickness and height play the important role while length is less significant.

Its hard case you can't notice the differnce between the stock cooler and this one.

I think its all to do dimensions of your i/c.

Mines 600 x 400 x 65 so it has a large surface area but its not very thick.

Also I think plumbin has alot to do with the lag isssue. But the HKS kits has large outlets from the core and goes to the factory size plumbing.

Also dropped my inlet temps from 65 degrees to 15 acccording to my PFC

I'm using a 2-row with a t-78 @ 14psi i've had no problems with it at all, holds the temps down pretty good i think a 3-row is almost over kill but def better than a 2-row. Thats just my opinion.

No I had to the cut the stock nose to make it fit.

So I bought the C-WEST N1 Series 8 front Bar....... Have to cut that to fit now too

Also I had to cut out the re informent bar. And relocate the radiator.

Apart from the mucking around to fit th thing I was very impressed with it. I can how drive me car around for about an hour and my pleumium is cold to touch
