I want to know what are the signs of a bad o-ring coolant seal ?
Is it white smoke?
when it's going to smoke?under acceleration or idle?

It won't smoke after it is to operating temp.

At start up, it will smoke excesively, especially after sitting a few days.
When you first start it with the coolant filler cap off, you will notice lots of little bubbles rising.

Your add coolant buzzer will sound alot.

how much is the cheapest rebuild for 3rd gen

 

$1800 from Malloy I belive is the going rate for a remaned engine. Did you pressure test the coolant system?

 

Keep in mind you get what you pay for.

Who is doing the motor R&R? You or a shop? Do you want a ported or stock motor?
