Oh and by the way I live on the border area of where Spanish Harlem ends so I'm talking about what I know in experience. I'm not some ignorant kid who doesnt' know what he's talking about. 2 of the people I know that don't live near me had their car stolen in a Latin community so I'm just telling you from what I heard from those victims. I also have several latin friends who are into 7s as well so they tell me how it is.

^ reread your own post. Your experience is based on location and to be biased by race "is" ignorant. Try leaving your 7 in a white only trailer park and see if it's there in the morning. Watch the tweaker driving it away as you alarm pager goes off "lol"!

--> Posting your security system is also ignorant, unless you like to advertise to theives on how they can disable it.

I allready answered your original thread question:
1. Relocate alarm brain
2. Relocate alarm siren
3. Add manual kill switch
4. Add theft recovery system

That is all/everything you can do. Anything else is a luxary and a false sense of security.

areXseven: You have a GREAT tool and carry it correctly, The right mindset. Nice to haves, hope you never engage them, too. Stay safe.

GoRacer: Couldn't have said it better myself. I'm going to add item 4 to my list O' stuff to get. I'll also probably add alarm with add-on for the door locks. If I can steal them from somewhere, that is.

skunks: Bat only good for CQC. (close quarter combat). But it will do the job!!. FYI..Don't ever hit in upper torso with a Bat. It will break. In CQC utilizing a Bat ,, go for the knees. The "suspect" will get the message pretty quick. This advise only given as only option available in a life threatening situation for self-defense. (I can see the flames).

Glock 19, German Shepherd, and Community watch (I have great neighbors).
Any more than that you'll have to figure out on your own, if you have the cajones (*****, don't want to pick on just the Latin speaking populace).

This is when you come wrong, I'm only basing it on where I live. I was talking about where I lived not saying every single place int he world, you are the one who took it the wrong way from the start. Obviously since I live amongst latin cummunity therefore majority of the theives would be latin people correct??? I thought so, you dont gotta give me examples of what location gets stuff stolen. It isn't any of your concern from the start on what I say about my own neighborhood in the first place since you don;t live here, so HUSH!

And people I'm askig about alarm systems in your car for security purposes to see what majority or some people have, I'm not asking about if you got pistols or a dog. You guys taking me as joke???? That's where ignorance comes from.

Dude, you need to chill. If some guys feel it's necessary to describe how they protect there car, whether it's an alarm system or vigilince with weaponry then that's their decision, right, perrogative, etc.
Taking you as a joke? I don't know, with replies like the one quoted above, maybe. Didn't start that way.
If your calling me ignorant then maybe you ought to look in the mirror. Whatever....

First off Frank i wasn't calling you ignorant you should be the one chilling out and reread the past post, I was not replying to you. I was only using the word "ignorance" for something someone else has said. Why do you have to start something with me for? Its my post that I wanted to ask to see which system people used so I can choose from one of them, is that so wrong of me to ask????? Its not me who made this an arguement, the thread wasn't meant for an arguement in the first place.

First off, I'm not trying to pick a fight with you, that's not my style. It had appeared that you were insulting my post as well as my inteligence (as well as others) that had to do with guns and/or dogs (or other means of protection, etc) by calling us ignorant. You specifically stated....

"..I'm not asking about if you got pistols or a dog. You guys taking me as joke???? That's where ignorance comes from."
...and felt that as a personal attack on myself, so I responded.

Secondly, just because you started this thread doesn't give you ownership, this is a public forum and many people will respond to threads in their own way, sometimes maybe even hijacking a thread as it takes off on it's own tangent, but such is the life of personal opinion, every one has one.

With that being said, you can have your thread back, I'm outa' here...

Frank

I have a Cliford system in mine. I also have just about all the add ons to go with it to. Such as hood and trunk pins, glass braking sencers, prox sencers, impact sencers, and air horns for the sciren. So far from the one break in I had it scared the guy off, and has turned others away when it goes off b/c it's so loud.

The best security system is a locked garage! Out of sight, out of mind.

shooting someone for trying to steal your car is a federal crime, because they aren't attacking you. Don't bring that constitutional right **** into this either. Look up every case someone has shot another person for trying to steal their car while the other person was defenseless. You'll see that they've all done jail time. I love my rx7, more then my gf. But I'm not going to shoot someone over a car. ****, I'll just get a new one and move, in the worse case. And if they part it out, well insurance will get me a brand new s5 engine baby and they did most of the weight reduction!

Hmm, really? You care to point out some case files then?
The key word here is "defenseless", at what point do they quit becoming defenseless? You do realize that once they are behind the wheel it becomes a 2+ton weapon, don't you? If they drive it with malice or with intent to harm you are justified in self defense. I'm not saying that shooting someone for steeling your car is the right thing to do, but if they are behind the wheel and I am fearing for my life or the lives of others, a person has a right to defend themselves and others. Oh, and guess what, the Constitution does guarantee this too, even though you could care less about that, judging by your remark.
Now of course I'd rather subscribe to the other options here, like a locked shop and ignition kill switches, but you just never know.

Regards,
Frank

Ps. I also don't recall ever saying that you had to shoot anybody to protect your car, I believe the liberals in this thread just implied it and jumped to their own conclussions.

Hmmmm. Well, I'm Canadian, and we're not allowed to have guns ;-).
Soooo, I have a Viper, connected to the stock alarm. Stock disables starter (thieves push start car), Viper disables fuel pump. Viper is set at minimum vibration sensitivity and alarm horn just goes "honk-honk-honk" (people hate noisy alarms that false and ignore them anyway). Viper also means I never have to use the key in the drivers side again, eliminating a high failure part. The car is parked in a locked garage, unless I'm travelling. If they want a $15,000 (check out the book price) car that bad I'm not about to try to stop them. My life is worth much more than that to me, at least.
As for pager style alarms, do you really want to go running toward a thief who could be armed (at least 50% chance in the US), is definatly on edge, and could give a S#$t about you?

people can still steal the car...if they dont need the engine and tranny theyre just gonna slam it into gear...its harder for them to steal if you put it on the gas pedal...

Yes they can start the car in 1st gear, then proceed to shifting without the clutch.. I have done it before in my old FC around my neighborhood.

A garage is the best thing to have, but the best theft recovery system that is about to hit the market is this right here... http://www.targexcorp.com/Product1.html

It's a tiny GPS unit with an embedded cell phone and is very small. You can hide it anywhere in your car. The range of options are overwhelming. You can tell it to call you when the car moves, you can set a specific boundary and tell it to call you if the car leaves that boundary or visa versa. It tells you speed, location by adress, city, zipcode or just raw coordinates. The way you get the data is through a phone. It has a voice engine which tells you every 30 seconds where the car is, you can give it commands via the phone. The commands include unlock, lock, disable motor (might not be included in final version). You can also access it through sms text messages giving it commands, as well as email.

I currently use the stock alarm, and the PFC rev. limiter method. I'm looking to get something a bit nicer in the near future though. The car cover also helps to keep the car somewhat out of sight for stray people passing through the neighborhood at night.

Anyone can do ANYTHING with enough resources. If I park my car inside a gaint bank vault you could still THEORETICALLY steal it. In reality, you need more than my car is worth just in equipment to get it out, so my car would be pretty much perfectly safe.

You don't have to make it impossible to steal your car, just a lot harder than everybody else's.

IMO, a pager is where it's at. Just make sure you have something good to go out there with. Chances are the guy doesn't have a gun or isn't willing to use it anyways. If he did, he'd save himself a ton of work and just carjack people.
