What is a reinforcement bar?

Everybody talks about the reinforcement bar for the 99 spec front end. I want to know what actually is it? is it the same as lip spoiler? is it a must if u want to install the 99 spec front end?

the rebar (reinforment car) goes behind your front bumper, and acts as a support/impact absorbtion beam. The 99 spec ones are shaped differently than the US 3rd gens.

with that, im not entirely sure. I wish i could give you an answer. From what i know, though, the 99 rebar is sort of contoured to fit the 99 spec lights. I believe the reinforcement bar was redesigned when the new rendition of the 3rd gen came out, with the new turn winkers.

But as for haveing a Jspec 95 and not needing the new rebar. . . . . . im not sure, sorry.
